Full-Metal Tapped · patch notes
v0.8.20
2 Oct 2026
This one was supposed to be all about new card shapes, but some really good conversations with a couple of players on the Discord turned it into a bit of a detour.
Apparently Intel was piling up faster than there was anything worth spending it on, and it was hard to tell where your Heat and REP would end up before you pressed commit, among some other issues. Shoutout to the Discord dudes!
This is a Stabilization update: settling those issues, adjusting the economy, and making a turn easier to read before you commit to it.
Here's the patch notes:

- The HEAT and REP bars at the top now show a forecast: where each bar could land this turn if you commit now, as a range like +7-9
- The forecast counts every outcome a job's ODDS allow, buy-ins, events running out, 'Wanted' tags, the city's Heat each turn and contracts that can pay out
- The range is outlined when it could reach the Heat cap or the REP goal, and sits on a filled plate when it will on every roll
- Hover anywhere on a bar for its tooltip: what the bar is, then the forecast with a row for each job or source

- A mission crewed to MAX now rolls 85% PASS, 14% MESSY and 1% FAIL instead of 90%, 8% and 2%, so a full crew's bad night is usually a MESSY
- The REP goal at every Heat Level is 2 lower: Milk Run 70, Small Time 76, Full Metal 82, Burn Notice 88 and Kill on Sight 94
- The Listening Post now pays 1 Intel per runner instead of 2
- Most upgrades that cost Intel are cheaper to match: the VIP Back Room and Agentic Listeners cost 8 instead of 12, most of The Lot's upgrades are about half price, and Job Prep and Put a Word In cost 1 (The Good Stuff goes up from 4 to 5)
- Create Diversion costs 3 Intel instead of 6, and Fence the Take sells 5 Intel for 12 Credits instead of 7
- Jobs that pay Intel pay less of it (a Tier 3 Tech job pays 6 Intel and 3 more on a bonus instead of 10 and 5), and events that trade in Intel are re-priced to match, like Jam the Manhunt at 4 Intel instead of 8
Some other changes:
- Replays now show the HEAT and REP bars with the run's cap and goal, the OPS DECK, and your Credits and Intel on every turn
- COMMIT keeps its size when it asks you to confirm: the question sits under the word (3 IDLE?, RED SKULL?) and a second press answers it
- The top of the board fits a 1024-wide window: contracts shorten to their star and REP, and their conditions move into the tooltip
As always, thanks for playing!
